Deok-Jin Jang, PhD
Chief Scientific Officer
Deok-Jin Jang is the Chief Scientific Officer at ILIAS Biologics.
Deok-Jin Jang is leading the research and development of innovative, exosome-based drug delivery systems at ILIAS Biologics. He brings more than 25 years of experience in cell biology, including protein trafficking and autophagy research in animal cells such as neurons.
As a professor of Applied Biology at Kyungpook National University, Dr. Jang published more than 70 research papers and obtained over ten patents. He earned his Ph.D. in Biological Science from Seoul National University. Later he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
